Driving HCP Awareness and Lead Generation Through a Targeted Diabetes Care Campaign

Overview

Effective healthcare campaigns require focused communication strategies to engage healthcare professionals (HCPs) and support awareness of relevant treatment options.

A three-month digital campaign conducted between May and July 2024 aimed to increase awareness among cardiologists, diabetologists, and consulting physicians across India. The initiative combined educational infographics with digital outreach and lead generation to engage the target audience and encourage interaction.

The campaign focused on reaching relevant medical professionals through multiple digital channels while measuring awareness, recall, engagement, and lead-generation outcomes.

Campaign Approach

The campaign adopted an omnichannel digital engagement and lead-generation strategy to connect with healthcare professionals across India.

The key communication channels included:

  • Mobile application
  • Website
  • Email
  • SMS
  • WhatsApp

Educational infographics were shared weekly to maintain visibility and support engagement among HCPs. Alongside regular content distribution, a lead-generation strategy was implemented to identify interested healthcare professionals and support further engagement.

The campaign targeted three specialties: cardiology, diabetology, and consulting physicians, allowing outreach to a defined audience across relevant areas of clinical practice.

Methodology

The campaign followed a structured methodology combining specialty-based targeting, educational content distribution, multichannel outreach, and lead generation.

The target audience comprised 21,399 healthcare professionals across India, including:

  • Cardiologists: 3,899
  • Diabetologists: 5,500
  • Consulting physicians: 12,000

Digital communication was delivered through the mobile application, website, email, SMS, and WhatsApp. Weekly educational infographics were used to maintain consistent engagement and support awareness among the targeted specialties.

A lead-generation strategy complemented the educational outreach, with the objective of identifying healthcare professionals for further engagement.

Campaign performance was evaluated using qualitative indicators, including awareness, recall, and perception, alongside quantitative metrics such as reach, impressions, clicks, click-through rate (CTR), and leads generated.

Result

Between May and July 2024, the campaign generated measurable visibility, engagement, and lead-generation outcomes among healthcare professionals across India.

The campaign achieved:

  • Reach: 21,400 healthcare professionals
  • Impressions: 89,559
  • Clicks/Interactions: 4,158
  • CTR: 5%
  • Leads Generated: 65

The campaign reached approximately 21,400 healthcare professionals and generated 89,559 impressions, providing visibility across the three targeted specialties.

It recorded 4,158 clicks and a 5% click-through rate, demonstrating interaction with the campaign content. In addition, the lead-generation strategy delivered 65 leads, extending the campaign’s outcomes beyond awareness and digital engagement.

These results highlight how targeted digital communication can combine audience reach, educational content, and lead generation within a coordinated healthcare campaign.

By combining specialty-based targeting, weekly educational infographics, multiple digital channels, and lead-generation activities, the initiative created a structured approach to engaging cardiologists, diabetologists, and consulting physicians across India.

With 21,400 HCPs reached, 89,559 impressions, 4,158 clicks, a 5% CTR, and 65 leads generated, the campaign highlights the value of coordinated digital outreach in delivering measurable awareness and engagement outcomes while creating opportunities for further healthcare professional engagement.
